Lego Tips and Tricks

Okay, so yesterday I found a picture with a description and I decided to try it out. Basically you take 2x1x1 bricks and stack them like you are making a brick wall. Like so:

Then you keep stacking the bricks until they’re 75-100 bricks long. (It doesn’t really matter, as long as you keep it above 75 bricks. (Or the bricks might explode when you try and bend it.)

Then you bend the bricks into a circle and attach the ends. Like so:

I’m not sure how “good” it is for the bricks to be bent like that, so I unhooked the ends last night just to be safe. Anyway, I thought it looked cool to make so I did. You can too if you have: 225-300 any color 2x1x1 bricks and about 30 minutes to spare. I hope you try it!

Building With Bricks

So, yes I haven’t blogged in a while, but I haven’t had any Ideas lately. Also this blog is for ME to catalog my Lego creations for my future career. But now I have come up with one of the greatest ideas since sliced bread!ts.20120125t101709.2x4brick_red[1]

Yes to build or not to build, that is the question. And what a silly one at that.

I decided to work with basic shapes instead of making a life sized model of something. (Because I’ve thought of doing that before but realized we don’t have a limitless supply of Legos.) So I decided to build a pyramid but it kind of turned into a temple sort of thing.

I also tried to make a sphere out of just bricks but it’s hard to get the curve right when making it as small as I did. It is between the shape of an egg and a sphere.

The bottom view probably looks the most like a sphere. If I made it like 2x2 feet, it would probably look a lot more like a ball then it does at this size, but we just don’t have enough of the same color…wait another brilliant idea! I’ll blog again when it’s finished. (I really did just think of something as I was typing.)
