New Blog!

Hey, if you haven't heard, I started a new blog for my YouTube channel. You can check it out here: http://www.alphaolego.blogspot.com/

I will still blog on here, but as you can tell, I haven't done it in a while. I will start trying to blog more on this one, but it won't be once a week like the other one.

Surprise!

So here it is. Sorry for the quality, it was the first time we used the camera. It was really fun to make, and Travis and I think it took a total of 11 hours of filming!

I worked on other projects in the meantime, (they didn’t need voice over) that will be out soon.

And I didn’t buy power director, I got Adobe Premiere Elements for $85 instead. It is more flexible for stop motion, and I really like it.

You can check out my YouTube channel for future videos, too. @ www.YouTube.com/AlphaAndOlegoStudios

It’s almost done…

So, the filming is done, and the sound is half done. The reason the sound isn’t done is because we (Travis and I) need a better editing program than windows movie maker. Our friends told us about a  good program (Cyber Link PowerDirector), but it’s $70. Which is money we don’t have right now. So the video’s release will be postponed for awhile.

Sorry, we just want to make the video the best it can be for our first video.

It’s Here!

So it came…but a little different then I thought. It is much smaller then I thought…much, much, smaller. The size of my thumb!

And I thought the stand it came with was going to reach over the Lego table. And that would have been nice, because I was hoping it would be ground level with the set. But I was wrong.

The top of the table is just out of the picture, (I did that on purpose). Why you ask? Because there is a surprise.

I have tested it a little, and the quality is beyond what I thought it was going to be, but I’m only going to post a finished video. So when the surprise comes out, I’ll post that for all of you to see.

The Future…

About a year ago Travis and I purchased a stop-motion animation program that came with a free webcam. We used the program for a while and realized the camera wasn’t very good. That webcam was the same one I used to make the video two days ago (the Logitech c200). We looked it up on Logitech’s website and found out why it was free, it is their WORST webcam. It said we can get up to 1.3 megapixels out of it, if you installed the software disk it came with (which we did not).

So I decided it was time to look for another camera. My Mom and I went on Amazon and found another webcam by the same company that is $40. We saw all the features on it, including the one that said it had 8 megapixels. We ordered it yesterday and it said it will come in 5-8 business days. I’m excited to see how much better this one is, seeing that all my pictures I put on this blog are took with a 8 megapixel camera.

I would like to start making brick films (like the one I showed you), that are good quality and funny. I hope I will have tons of fun with it, but don’t expect anything too big too fast. I’m probably going to start off with one minute videos.

I was going to pay for the webcam, but about two hours after we ordered it, my wonderful Mother came up to me and said “I’m going to buy the webcam for you, but I want you to make a video of how wonderful your mother is.” Exact quot.

So that’s the future for Jared’s Creations Made From Lego.

I’m thinking about changing my blog name too, if you have any ideas for what it could be, please suggest it in the comments.

Sorry Louanne…

P7220024

Yeah…it kind of broke…when I tried to bring it upstairs to take a picture in natural sunlight…and. But I am offering you a once in a life time opportunity to buy me a plane ticket to fly to Texas and build one for in your house for the next Olympics! (You would kind of have to buy the Lego bricks too.)

(This offer is not available in stores.)

Lego Tips and Tricks

Okay, so yesterday I found a picture with a description and I decided to try it out. Basically you take 2x1x1 bricks and stack them like you are making a brick wall. Like so:

Then you keep stacking the bricks until they’re 75-100 bricks long. (It doesn’t really matter, as long as you keep it above 75 bricks. (Or the bricks might explode when you try and bend it.)

Then you bend the bricks into a circle and attach the ends. Like so:

I’m not sure how “good” it is for the bricks to be bent like that, so I unhooked the ends last night just to be safe. Anyway, I thought it looked cool to make so I did. You can too if you have: 225-300 any color 2x1x1 bricks and about 30 minutes to spare. I hope you try it!
